Rest in peace, r-dawg

Today officially marks one year since Ryan Jubenville took his own life.
He was my age.

You are still missed.
You will not be forgotten.

I'm still mad at you.
I love you.

Grace.
(please post prayer, I still have no idea what to think about this one.
It still scares me like crazy to wonder where he is now. )

Caitlyn I am no theologian but I know mental illness and it is an illness.
I don't know if your friend ever knew Jesus, but if you knew he saw Jesus and he had the opportunity to meet Jesus. Maybe in his darkest hour he met Jesus. What I do believe is that your friend suffered from an illness that many don't recognize and have empathy for.
I guess what I am saying is that if he did take the opportunity to meet Jesus at any point in his life, I personally don't believe he will be punished for succumbing to an illness that robs you of your joy, your energy, basically your life as you know it.
He gave in, he couldn't fight anymore and yeah you can be angry but have some empathy too, because you too have been there, but you are stronger and you have God to back you up.
Lord Jesus I just ask that you send your Holy Spirit to wrap his arms around Caitlyn for the next 24 hours as she mourns the loss of a friend. Help her to not question your ways, and leave where he spends eternity up to you.
Give her the wisdom to know what to say to others who are hurting and show her to mark this sad anniversary.
Lord I also pray that you put the right people in her path just when she needs them.
Jesus give her strength to make it through this day. She may feel like she is facing it alone and physically, in the flesh she may be but let her feel the love of You and her friends who are backing her up in prayer and thoughts.
Lord I thank you for the compassionate warrior's heart you have given Caitlyn, and for the truth she speaks even when I don't want to hear it.
